Re: CVS Question
I had a CVS done last year... To be honest it wasn't pleasant... it's uncomfortable and did hurt but it's over so fast. They go in through the abdomen or cervix, mine was done through the abdomen. Once the needle is in the doctor moved it up and down for 30 seconds to make sure they got a good sample of the placenta. You just have to make sure you don't tense up because that makes it hurt more than it has to. Relax (as much as you can), breathe and before you know it, it's over!!
Afterwards I felt fine, maybe a tiny bit sore but I walked from my doctor's office (32nd and Madison) to Penn Station without any issue. I think you could probably drive afterwards but I would have DH go with you. DH couldn't make it into the city in time for my appointment since they got me in the same day they called with my NT scan results so I had my sister come with me instead. It was definitely nice to have someone there.
The next day you'll just feel like you did a bunch of sit ups the day before but even that went away by the afternoon.
Good Luck and if you have any other questions let me know!!!

Re: CVS Question
I had a CVS done in May, and I would say that it hurt. I was very uncomfortable for the rest of the day, as well as the next day. I also had a lot of tenderness where the needle was inserted for over a week. It is certainly manageable though, and for the advantage of getting results much earlier than with an amnio, I'd do it again if I had to. I had DH come with me, and drive; and I stayed off my feet all day plus the next day.

Re: CVS Question
I had a CVS done last year and, to be honest, it didn't hurt. It was uncomfortable. Then went in vaginally as the baby wasn't in the proper position to go in through the abdomen. I took it easy the next couple of days and experienced a little staining and cramping that lasted about 2 days. FM with any questions.

Re: CVS Question
I had one done in April and went thru my tummy...
It literally only lasted 1 min gettig the tissue which was Very Conformable I would say... almost hurting like pressure... but like I said it was 1 min at most.
The annoying part was the waiting to take it, waiting for preparing for it and then for me the 5 weeks for the ***** results... but we did it for a very specific test... I had sex and chormosones back in like 1-2 weeks.
Good Luck!
