CVS?
Did anyone have one? Can you share your experience - the decision to do it, and what the procedure and aftermath was like? TIA

Re: CVS?
I had a CVS done for my current and previous pregnancy. I did it to check for a specific genetic disease that I am a carrier of. The procedure itself is relatively quick. Except for a slight discomfort like a cramp it was not painful at all. I felt fine immediately afterwards although I took it easy for the rest of the day. I think the worst part of it was the anticipation of getting it done - I drove myself crazy!
FM if you have any more questions or want more details.

Re: CVS?
I had a CVS done at 11 weeks. We decided to do it due to my age (40) and because of previous losses due to chromosome issues. I was originally going to do an amino but my doctor suggested a CVS since it could be done sooner for peace of mind earlier in the pregnancy.
I had it done through the cervix rather than the abdomen. It was uncomfortable, but not painful really. Afterwards I was crampy for a few days and had some light spotting which was a little nerve wracking. Everything was fine with my DD and even though it was a scary process, I was glad to know so early that she was healthy. I am now 22 weeks and everything is going great,
If you have any specific questions feel free to ask!
