Cutting down on electric usage
I am determined to bring down my Lipa bill. It went down about $22 dollars this month because we shut off our hot tub and were away for a week and a half in September, so I think it's the remnants of those costs.
This month i've been trying to unplug things like phone chargers, microwave, DD's nightlight- when not in use. I try to remember to turn lights off when not in the room. My next step will be to invest in the energy saver light bulbs.
Any other ideas?

Re: Cutting down on electric usage
I know that we are bad about leaving our desktop computer on a lot, even when it's not in use. So make sure to turn that off!
And I never realized that leaving appliances and chargers plugged in when not in use is a huge electricity guzzler, but I read an article about it recently, and it apparently makes a huge difference! So I think your idea of unplugging chargers, and things like the toaster and coffee pot, will have a big impact.
Good luck!

Definitely keep things unplugged. Open the blinds during the day instead of turning on the lights. As for bulbs, we've started switching over to LED bulbs when possible which are even better than compact fluorescent. If we replace appliances, we always go with low energy (ceiling fans, microwave, etc.) DH just invested in a voltmeter so he has been going around to see what sucks up the most energy!
