Custom Bookshelves
I want to build custom bookcases with cabinets underneath into the corner of my living room. Is there a special kind of carpenter that you call to do a job like this?
Any recommendations?

Custom Bookshelves
I don't have any recs but you need a finish carperter. Not one that does drywall etc....you need soemone who does mill work.

We had some custom pieces done when we finished our basement last year. The contractor had a guy on his team who did mill work and it took a looooong time to get it all done, but the finished look is beautiful. But because of the skill & time required, it was much more expensive than anticipated. Our wall unit holds a 50" tv, has shelves on both sides, and four cabinets with doors on the bottom for toy storage....cost us almost $8k.

Dynamic Kitchens & Furniture- who is a vendor on here- also does custom furniture, shelving & millwork.

Not trying to hijack, but I had a bad experience with this place three years ago when we bought our sons' bunkbeds from them. They stained the beds a different color from the bedrailings, they didn't include the appropriate hardware and then when they sent us the right ones they had to be re-stained and then there was another mix-up when they were stained the wrong color again. But the biggest problem was that a mouse came in the boxes they were delivered in!!
