Crying it out...
I know this has been asked before, but when is it ok for kids to CIO? DD is almost 3 months old and nap time the past three days has been horrible. She will go down for 15 minutes, wake up and cry. I BF her, then give her a bottle, burp her, change her diaper, give her a binky and nothing works. She just wants me to hold her. She is usually never like this. I took her temp, no temp. What is going on??? Help please!
I ususally work while she is napping and I can't get anything done! Well, there she goes again, signing off...

Re: Crying it out...
I don't think most moms start as young as 3 months. I think they say not to start before 4 months but I'm not positive.

Re: Crying it out...
I think you should wait till they are at least 6 months. (I admit I am not a fan of CIO, hence why my almost 3 year old sleeps in my bed )

Re: Crying it out...
I never did it, but 3 months old is way too young to begin CIO IMO. She may be getting up for a reason. Most 3 months old do not sleep 7-7. If they sleep 5 hours in a row it is considered sleeping thru the night.

Re: Crying it out...
4 months is the rec'd age...
I did it with Ryan one week prior to him being 4 months....
If this is the method you are going to use- I would suggest starting it around 4/5 months... as they get older- its soooo sooo much harder to do.... (esp once they say Ma-ma)

Re: Crying it out...
A 3 months old should be sleeping 10hrs. at night...
And a total of 15 hrs. for the day...
Here is a really helpful chart
Ryan generally always followed this- give or take here and there...

Re: Crying it out...
Thanks Ladies
I posted this at 1PM and now it is 2:45 and she has been asleep for 5 minutes so we shall see. In that hour and forty five minutes I fed her (she only had 1oz, so hunger was not the issue), burped her, changed her, and then resorted to calling my dad. He actually gave me the best advice and I was shocked. He told me to put her on the play mat, on her back for a few minutes, then on her belly and so on. We had tummy time earlier, but my Dad thought she might be bored. Sure enough, she was all smiles on her play mat, swinging at all the stuff hanging from it and making raspberries into the plastic mirror, etc. Low and behold after 20 minutes she started rubbing her eyes. She is in her swing sleeping now. My dad said I would get bored easily and needed to be active right before I took my nap. Like mother, like daughter.

I figured that out the other day as well. I never considered her needing some stimulation/playtime.
At least my friends think I'm fun

I know. It never crossed my mind that she wanted to play DUH! BTW - She has been asleep since 2:45, a little over two hours! Got my work done!

Re: Crying it out...
I started with Talia right before she was 4 months because she stopped sleeping at the three month mark and I couldn't take it anymore.
Looking back if I knew it would have worked as well as it did I would have started at 3 months. Every baby is different - but I think she would have responded then. You have to KNOW though that there are no other needs not being met at the time. I knew talia was just trying to get me to take her into bed with me because when I did she went right back to sleep.
