Crusing out of New York in the Winter
How are the waters? For some reason, I am picturing it to be really choppy. I hope I am wrong!

Re: Crusing out of New York in the Winter
We went in mid May and the waters were still choppy, but going back it was fine.

Re: Crusing out of New York in the Winter
We went for Christmas two years ago. The waters were a bit choppy but it didn't bother me, DH or our two DS. My parents and niece were fine as well. My sister was the only one who felt nauseous.

Re: Crusing out of New York in the Winter
My parents have cruised out of Bayonne a few times in February. It can depend. It can very well be choppy for the first day or two, but other times ok. My mom gets seasick. She just automatically take Dramamine before sailing and is ok 99% of the time. The key if you are worried is to take meds before you get sick. Once sick it is harder to cure.

Re: Crusing out of New York in the Winter
we left out of NYC this past December, on the NCL breakaway. we had no problems with the water... DH, 3 year old DS and I were all fine. It was a tiny bit choppy, but not a huge deal. I didn't see anyone else who seemed to be sick, either.... we did miss one of the ports due to "weather". it was sunny that day, so I'm guessing it might have had to do with the water and the smaller tender boats.

The water was rough until we got to Florida. I was not a fan.

Re: Crusing out of New York in the Winter
We usually cruise in mid-May out of NY and only once have we ever hit choppy water. And that was the first night- it was fine by the next day.

Crusing out of New York in the Winter
We cruised out of NYC last February (13). The water was fine. We actually didn't hit choppy water until we got to the Carolinas.
