Cruise Recommendation Needed!!!
So, I'm looking to go on my first cruise to celebrate my 30th birthday with friends and family.
Since I've never cruised before, I need recommendations.
I'm looking to do an Alaskan cruise.
A TA is helping me, but sent me Princess Cruises only, but not sure what other people would recommend.

I did Alaska in 2006 on Royal Caribbean.
It was very nice, the only thing I did not like was that it was a round trip cruise. We left out of/returned to Vancouver BC. When I do another Alaska, I would like to do a one way, this way we get to see more of Alaska and less of Canada.
Mid July is a good time to go. The weather is great and hopefully you can see a lot of whales while cruising.
I've never sailed Princess, but haven't heard anything negative about them.

Celebrity, NCL and Disney all do Alaska cruises.
Celebrity- excellent food, beautiful ships.
NCL- 'freestyle dining'= you can eat at any restaurant whenever you want, meaning you don't have a set table in a dining room at a set time
Disney- most family friendly in terms of childcare programs
Its a beautiful trip, enjoy!

DH's aunt and uncle did the Alaskan cruise with NCL last year and loved it. That's definitely one we want to do.

My mom and I went on an Alaskan cruise with Princess about 3 years ago and it was great. I believe it started in Anchorage and ended in Vancouver. It was so beautiful there, you will love it.

We went 9/09 on the Coral Princess.
Copied this from an old thread:
We rented a car for the 2 days in Anchorage.
Took the dome train to Denali and spent 2 nights.
Dome train back to Anchorage.
Next day bus from Anchorage to Whittier to get on the ship.
Cruised College Fjord, Glacier bay National Park.
Stopped in Skagway, Juneau and Ketchikan.
Cruised the inside passage and disembarked in Vancouver. (7 day cruise).
Then we spent 3 nights in Vegas at Trump before we flew home to relax.

My neighbor was mentioning she took an Alaskian Cruise.. I will ask her what ship she took.
ETA: I believe it was Royal Carribean.. I'll ask her tonight. G/L in your search.
