Cruise at 12 weeks

Do you think it is okay to go on a cruise at 12 weeks? We have a cruise booked for next month out of NY to Bermuda. Cruiseline says you can cruise up to 22 weeks and I know there is the potential for rocky seas which can cause me being more nauseous but other than that do you think it is safe? I will ask my Dr but wanted to ask all of you what you think! TIAChat Icon

Re: Cruise at 12 weeks

I was 9-weeks pregnant with my twins and went on a 9-day cruise. My doctor gave her blessing. The ship is so huge I never felt any movement. It was nice to be able to do anything and everything and still just walk to my room for a nap.

On a side note, I just did Royal Carribean for 5-days for Bermuda....it was AWESOME. I hope you have a great time.

I think GO FOR IT! Chat Icon

Like you said, you might be more prone to nausea, and I would wash your hands like super-crazy and be a major germaphobe --- you don't want to catch the norovirus if there is an outbreak on your ship (god-forbid).

Not to be a Debbie-downer, but for the most part, god forbid, if anything "happens" at 12 wks there really isn't much anyone can do. And I'm pretty sure that when something does happen, it's usually to late as well.

Go for it! I never had one day of morning sickness so a cruise at 12w would have been a breeze. Enjoy! Chat Icon

Re: Cruise at 12 weeks

yes go for it!!

I just went on an 8 day cruise in June leaving out of NY at 15 weeks, I will be honest I did have some slight sea sickness the first sea day but it was a bit rocky, I just had ginger ale and a toasted bagel, rested and felt better by that evening. It was great though because I was still early where I was not uncomfortable or anything.

Re: Cruise at 12 weeks

I went on a Royal Caribbean cruise last year to Bermuda and the Bahamas and felt FINE!! I was also 12 and 13wks during the cruise.

The only thing that bothered me was that I was drinking a lot to stay hydrated and then going to the bathroom every 15 minutes Chat Icon

You'll be fine though.. and plus, I went in July (last year).. September won't be quite as bad in terms of the heat.

Have a GREAT time!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
