Crinone

Hello,
I'm hoping you ladies could help me with some info about Crinone.
I'm 5/6DPO, had back to back IUIs, unmedicated cycle (no trigger either). My progesterone came back 6.9 today. Nurse called to start Crinone, once a day.
I'm reading the pamphlet (never took before) and it does mention the possibility of birth defects. I know many of you ladies take progesterone, and was wondering if you had any further info on that. I was trying to avoid all medications this cycle (I lost a baby a few years ago due to many, many severe birth defects). I understand that drug companies have to list any and all possibilities, but I feel uncomfortable with this. Docs office is closed and I just picked up the med. I would greatly appreciate any input. Thank you, thank you.

Michelle

Re: Crinone

i was on progesterone for every cycle we did and this was over many years

i knew i needed it to have the pregnancy last and i was more afraid of another bfn than birth defects which i never heard of until u posted

such a personal decision,i cant say u must take the meds!but i will say if yo are going to go through all this and do the treatments etc you should maximize your chances and do what you feel is right

if you are uncomfortable that is your choice,i understand for me the pros def outweighed the risks by far
best of luck!

Thank you for taking the time to reply.
To clarify, it says that birth defects have been reported, but a causal association has not been confirmed or refuted.
I think I'm irrationally terrified of this disclaimer because of my history. I just wanted to try no meds for a while and am disappointed my progesterone is low.
I'm very glad it worked out for you Chat Icon
