Cribs: Which do you plan on using

I know this has been discussed before, but which do you plan on using or have used:

Regular Bumper
Breathable Bumper
No Bumper.

I like the look of the bumpers but if I used them I'd be too worried all the time. We decided not to use bumpers at all.

I used regular bumpers with DD. She started sleeping in the crib at around 4 months and did not move around at all. By the time she really started moving at night when she slept, she was pretty mobile (able to turn herself over, etc) at that point so I felt comfortable leaving them on. She's 2 now and they are still there. That being said, we do have breathable bumpers and I will probably be using those with this baby.

none. I didn't get a typical bedding set that came with them either. I'll just be using fitted sheets in the bed

6 years ago when my DD was born using regular bumpers were still the norm, so that is what I did.

When she was about 2 she barfed all over them and so I never put them back in. She had a stomach virus for a week and it was just easier to clean up without them in there.

I realized at that point that they weren't really necessary, and that taking them in and out every time I changed the sheets was a pain, and so I just left them out.

And now in time for my 2nd LO to be born, so many safety risks have come out surrounding them.

So I will be foregoing bumpers completely. Just the sheet in there this time around!

Crib bumpers are being banned and are no longer recommended by the AAP because of infant death.

My parents used them, I have friends and family that used them, no one had an issue. But that doesn't mean I or anyone else in the future will be that lucky.

I would never take that chance.

I was going to use breathable bumpers for DS but they didn't fit on his crib properly. He's never gotten injured in his crib without the bumpers. They're not necessary and can be risky, so why use them?

I like the look of the regular bumpers, but we decided to go with none.

I just put in the breathable bumpers. They were a lil PITA to put in but I like the look of them. If I see it causes a problem after DS is born (ie taking them up for cleaning, etc. ) then I will forego them.

This is my 1st LO I have decided not to get typical bedding and just have fitted sheets. I plan on not using bumpers at all. When the baby gets older, of we feel its needed, I will add breathable bumpers.

It's our first and I will probably be overprotective about everything but not worth the risk for me. We will not do bumpers.

I used regular bumpers with my 1st 2, and will for this one too.

This is my second.

I use nothing in the beginning (SIDS) & then introduce regular bumpers (and even a pillow) later on.
