Cribs and furniture
I am assuming it is okay to buy furniture from BRU. I mean they are a reputable company right? We went to Behr's because DH's father in law said, "so many people recommend it" It's like when he says it we have to go with it or he will be insulted.
I say BRU's prices are so much better and we can get so much more for our dollar. Behr's doesn't have changing tables anymore. They just have these changing mats that sit on top of the dresser. I don't like that.
We saw some beautiful converter cribs with attaching changing tables on BRU's website. We can get that and a dresser and a glider all for less the price of just a crib and dresser at Behrs. What are your thoughts?

Re: Cribs and furniture
Bru has some cheap furniture but it also has some great quality stuff. Same situation you'd find in any store IMO. The set I bought from BRU is very high quality- dovetailed drawers, felt lined, excellent gliding etc. So I think you can def find what you're looking for there

Re: Cribs and furniture
BRU and BBB have some great furniture and some cheaper furniture.
The only advice I would give is to see it in person and think 2x about the cribs with the attached changing table. They just do not give you much flexibility with layout. Also many people find they do not use a changing table as much as they thought if you have a 2 story house and have to run upstairs every time you need to change a diaper.

Re: Cribs and furniture
We bought furniture at BRU. It's fine. Not as nice as my sister-in-law's Bellini, but I haven't heard any complaints from my baby.
eta: the crib/changing table combos look nice, but they're not practical in the long run.

Re: Cribs and furniture
For DD1 we got our furniture from Behrs. We got a beautiful Munire set, it's held up really well, but it was expensive! This time around, DD2 was a bit of a surprise, so we didn't have the means to buy another set from Behrs. We ordered a Babi Italian set from BRU and it is completely comparable to the Munire set. We're happy with the looks & satisfied with the quality.

we bought our furniture from BRU and it is fine and we are very happy with it. Definitely go to each store and spend a day or two really looking at the furniture, you will find some is better quality than others.

Re: Cribs and furniture
I think you can certainly find some good quality pieces of furniture at BRU. I think it is good to think outside of the box.
When we were shopping for my DD's nursery/bedroom furniture, we did not need a crib since a beautiful, sturdy one was passed onto us. We were looking for a changing table and ended up going with one from BRU that was a combo changing table/dresser. She is now 6 years old and has used it as a dresser since. It is a well-made piece of furniture made from real wood with dovetailing. And we got it on clearance for a little over $70! So we have certainly gotten our money's worth. We will be moving it into the baby's room and using it all over again for child #2 and getting DD a more "grown up" dresser for her room.

Re: Cribs and furniture
I bought my furniture at buy buy baby...i paid around 1,600 for the set, and i have to say i am not happy with the way its held up. Maybe babies r us furniture is better. I would have rather paid a little more and had a better piece of furniture.
I have Ikea furniture that has held up MUCH better.
