Crested/Terrier mixes available ...please help
Today in the weekly paper I saw a few Chinese Crested/Terrier mixes available for adoption at the Town of Oyster Bay Animal Shelter in Syosset. This is a kill shelter, and in my past experience with them, if a dog is advertised it is on death row.
Please take a look at their site and contact them right away by phone if you are interested.

(I already contacted the Crested rescue groups, but have not heard from them if they can help)

These must have been all surrendered/taken from the same home ? That's alot of one breed at a shelter.
Little dogs do faster than big dogs at shelters, so hopefully all these dogs will find a home this weekend.
They're adorable. I wish I could take them all home.

I am assuming so, or maybe a PM. It looks like someone thought it was a good idea to make a new breed. Both Chinese Cresteds and Silky Terriers are low allergenic dogs.
At any rate, the dogs are still there....
NONE of the breed rescue groups have called me back

Probably not. I actually got an email from one of the rescue orgs. They had already known about the dogs from a member who is also a breeder on LI. They contacted the shelter and will be able to take the dogs if they are not adopted to forever homes first. 
The shelters do not encourage private Fostering, probably because many people would abuse it as a "test and see" situation. (Although I know you would not do that  )
