Creating childhood memories for your DC...
When do you think they really begin ? Meaning, I would really like to create fond memories for my DC's childhoods ( not meaning they have to be orchestrated or planned ) , I know they just come, by making our own little traditions, whether it be holidays, family vacations etc...But at what age do you think they will remember as far back as , because my DS is 3 and so far anyway, I don't "feel" like I've started to make any real memorable memories (if that makes any sense )...Traditions themselves come with time , thats what makes them traditions - but its the everyday things I'm referring to...Most of my days are by me "winging it"- keeping them safe, fed, entertained and feeling loved...The more I read my own post, the more confused Im making myself, so if anyone can decipher what the heck I'm talking about.....

Re: Creating childhood memories for your DC...
I'm not exactly sure when childhood memories 'begin' but i do things (everyday rituals) that have created fond memories for me, so I hope they will be for him as he grows (DS is 4 now). Some things we love to do is after his bath I wrap him up in a towel and sing a 'Snuggle bug" song and rock and try not to let any toes or fingers pop out of the towel so he doesn't get 'cold', we laugh, smile and bond after a long day. Another thing we do is bake and cook together, we both enjoy it and occassionally it will lead into a full fledged flour fight. These things maybe small, but in the long run I hope that we can look back on these things as memories that will last as we grow older

Re: Creating childhood memories for your DC...
Well then I guess I am making some memories then ...There are lots of little things DS and I only do together...We have our little things we say to eachother, like before bed I say "I love you the mostest" and he says "I love YOU the mostest !!" and we go back and forth, until I chase him upstairs to bed, songs I've made up that I've sung to him since he was a baby that he now sings along with me to etc...Little things I will always treasure and will never forget, and hopefully it will be the same for him and my DD ...I put everything in their baby books also in a little blog I made ...If they could just stay little

That's exactly what childhood memories are made of.

Personally, I don't remember before 3 years old.
I think the imprinting & bonding starts well before 3 so no harm in starting as early as possible.

Yep, thats what I'm thinking also...The earliest memories ( and they are very scattered) were when I was about 4, I would say
