 definatly a good reminder!!! Im short and this is my fear.. I creep out sooo slowly for the fear that i will hit someone or animal b/c not being able to see them.
That mother deserves a swift kick in her rearend.

UGH! you know it makes me mad when I see that.. all the time I see parents with their kids way behind or way ahead of them.... My kids have known from day ONE that if they are in a parking lot they are holding a grownups hand.. no questions, no excuses.... My son is 7 and there is still no way he is walking alone in a parking lot.

Oy, that's so scary. We have a rule that Alex MUST hold one of our hands in the parking lot. She hates the rule, but she knows if she breaks it, one of us will immediately scoop her up, plop her in the car and give her a timeout when we get home.

I am a very laid back parent, but that is one thing I don't play arouond with..the parking lot! I get so nervous

Thank you for posting. That is so scary.
I was just commenting to someone the other day that I love my new car, but I hate that I can't see so well out of the back window which makes me so nervous backing up.

This is a great PSA!
Because even IF you weren't the type to zoom out of your spot, you still very well could have hit him because you he was probably too short to see anyway.
I've seen people do this a lot (let their kids run ahead). I will certainly have a hand holding rule in the parking lot too. So scary!!!
