Cramping...is this normal?
I just got my BFP this morning at 12dpo, but I am having some MAJOR cramps...like, the worst I've ever had...
Please tell me this is normal? It feels like AF is coming any moment, but according to the test, she's not!

Re: Cramping...is this normal?
I would give your OB a call just to touch base with them. Also i would go lay down and put your feet up.. It may just be your body saying "let me rest lady"
ETA: also sorry.. CONGRATULATIONS and GOOD LUCK!!

Re: Cramping...is this normal?
I have cramps too that make me nervous. Mine are really low though and on the sides...probably the stretching of the uterus. Ask your doctor though!

BETH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have barely been on the board lately since I am going overboard at work trying to make sure everything is in place for maternity leave, but I am SO glad I poked my nose in for a minute b/c I just saw your SN and started clapping!
I am so excited to see you here - congratulations woman!!
As far as cramping, it is normal but I would take it easy anyway. Time for Danny to do all the house work while you cultivate his . hehehe Oh I am so happy for you!!!

Re: Cramping...is this normal?
I had them from the 5th day after my IUI all they way through my first trimester. It's normal as long as you're not doubling over in pain or bleeding. But I had cramping all throughout.......it felt like menstrual cramps, very uncomfortable menstrual cramps. It will pass.

Re: Cramping...is this normal?
I had cramps for 2 days a week before AF was due. They were what made me take a test. They were similar to AF cramps but a little worse (I don't get bad AF cramps at all) and very persistent for the 2 days. It started tapering off on day 3, but still had some on an off cramping for another 2 days.

Re: Cramping...is this normal?
I forgot all about that! heh, funny how you keep moving on and forgetting about the earlier stages of pregnancy.
throughout my 2WW and until I was about 5 or 6 weeks, I had something that felt like mild cramping. It was more dull and constant than the usual menstrual cramps. I've been told it's the uterus expanding to accommodate the little bean
definitely, always contact your OB when you've got a concern like that, just to be safe.
For my future pregnancies, I wouldn't be concerned with mild cramping, but I WOULD be concerned if it was very strong/painful cramping, or cramping accompanied by (especially bright red) spotting.

Re: Cramping...is this normal?
I had terrible cramps at the very beginning. I actually thought AF was coming and took some Advil.
My doctor told me that as long as there is no bleeding it's alright.

Re: Cramping...is this normal?
I had terrible cramps for weeks after my BFP. So much so that I ran to the bathroom so many times to look for blood, I was that sure AF was coming...
I heard it was implantation, and the uterus stretching...
So don't worry- and CONGRATS to you!!

I had cramps throughout the entire first trimester. Although it's completely normal, it never hurts to give the doc a call for a check in.
