When is your next doctor appt? period type cramps can be pre-term labor but like you said it could be anything else. Do they come and go? Can you time them? The next time they happen, see how long they last and how far apart they are. If they are timeable, lasting a minute or so each time and about 5-10 minutes apart I would call the doctor.

Re: Cramping at 34 weeks
Thanks. My do apt is tnrw and the office is closed other than an emergency
They come and go day and night I am going to start to keep a log and bring to her tnrw
And I am an idiot- when do I start timing? When the cramps start and end? Or the space between the cramps? What about the kicking it's extremely more active now as well

Braxton Hicks does NOT include pain so cramps could mean pre-term labor. I went in to the hospital last week with cramps (I am at 32 weeks) and I was having real contractions every 4 minutes, not Braxton Hicks and they told me you know the difference because real contractions feel like cramping and consist of pain. I was put on bed rest for 2 days and feel much better. Lying on your left side and drinking water helps but definitely get checked out and time them. You never know since every body is so different.

Stop googling!!!! Google will tell you that you have an alien inside you growing a banana out of its ear!! Google is NOT your friend.
You time from the time that cramping starts until the time it stops. And then you time the time it stops until the time it starts again to know how far apart they are.
I had BH contractions but I didn't have pain, it was just uncomfortable.

Period like cramps is a sign of labor. I was told to call my OB if I felt this type of cramping. I had what I though was cramping and it turned out to be a kidney stone. I would call your OB. As for timing contractions you time when the contraction starts and how long it lasts (when it ends)- to determine how far apart they are you look at the time from the start of one contraction to the start of The next. I downloaded an app that calculates the start, end and time between contractions- it is the I birth contraction timer.

You can definitely tell the difference between movement and contractions. A contraction feels like a tightening of your abdomen. They often start at the bottom of the belly. You can feel the muscles tightening- this can be painful and then they will start to relax. They contractions can last from seconds to a minute or more. Movements and kicks are usually quick and last a few seconds.

Re: Cramping at 34 weeks
drink lots of water!!! I had pre-term labor at 34 weeks and had to be put on an IV to rehydrate. I felt period-like cramps as well and when the doctor brought me in and hooked me up to the fetal monitor, sure enough I was contracting every 4-5 mins, not BH!
good luck at your appt tomorrow!
