Cradle of aviation?

Is the cradle of aviation appropriate for a 17 month old? I’ve done LICM but never cradle of aviation. My one son loves trains, planes, cars etc I thought it would be nice to take them but if they are too young I’d rather wait. I couldn’t find much info online

Honestly, at 17 months, the best thing is to take them to a bridge/train station and watch the trains come and go.

The Firefighter museum is in the same building, a bit better for about 3 years old but may be a good fit.

There is the Jet club with a zone for kids that is in the same building and inexpensive.

Cradle of aviation main museum is aimed at older kids... but like anything, you can always give it a go.

Thanks! My husband works for LIRR so we are often at the train station and he will go with him from time to time to the train yard if he is ever going to look at a location prior to a site tour and he takes him on his own usually for 1:1 time since his twin is completely uninterested. I thought it would be a nice change but he doesn’t know any better and I’ll definitely check out the firefighter museum maybe closer to their 2nd birthday!
Thanks!

The actual museum part would not be age appropriate, but the Junior Jet Club would be perfect for them. It’s a separate and much cheaper admission price from the museum part.

No wonder he’s into trains!!!
I loved watching LIRR as a kid and my kids all loved it too.
Don’t miss the transit museum in Brooklyn. Also aimed at a young set, it was very fun and worth the trip.

Thanks! I looked online for info about the Jet club since the above poster mentioned this too! I couldn’t find much info, so it’s within the cradle of aviation? I just pay admission there?

Yes, you just pay for admission to it at the front desk when you walk inside.

When I brought my kids my 20 month old had some fun but things were more geared towards her older brother (3 years old. They do have a lot of hands on things so there definitely is stuff to keep them occupied. I would see if your local library has free passes.
