Coxsackie while pregnant?

Has anyone had coxsackie while pregnant? I looked it up and it said that you had to call your dr if you have it. Just wondering why, and what could happen. Thanks!

Re: Coxsackie while pregnant?

read this about it...

Pregnant women can pass Coxsackie virus to their newborns, which may cause serious problems for the newborn, so pregnant women need to notify their obstetrician if they exhibit symptoms of the infection, especially if they are near their delivery date.

Its fine as long as your not due in a few days type of thing. Its not good for newborns to have it, babies in utero won't catch it.

Thanks everyone....I put a call into the dr....I talked to the nurse, and she said she doesnt think there should be a problem, but will ask the dr when he comes in.
