Coxsackie and going back to daycare?
So DS came down with the dreaded coxsackie yesterday. We got the call from daycare that he had a fever and that coxsackie was going around the school.
When I finally got home last night, he had the sores in the back of his mouth.
Here's my question... when do you think he will be OK to go back to school? I read different things as to how long they are contagious. His fever is gone today and he is feeling much better, but he still has the sores in the mouth. Is he OK when the sores go away?
Anyone with experience please share! Thanks!

I am wondering the same thing....DD got it on Thursday....She had a fever for two days but so far today we are ok. She won't eat or drink anything though so I am not sure what we are going to do.

Yeah, my mom usually watches DS Tuesday and Wednesday, so we might just have him skip daycare on Monday and not go back until THursday. Just to be safe. Ugh!
Hope DD feels better! DS is enjoying lots of yogurt and applesauce!

Jacob got it about a year ago. He got it on a Thursday (fever, sores in his throat) and the pediatrician said that he couldnt go back until that Monday.

We require a note that they are no longer contagious from the Dr for them to return. It is usually when the sores are gone which can be a few days. If he still has them by Monday I would keep him home. Hope he feels better

Man, now I wish I had asked the daycare about their coxsackie policy so that I know for sure what the deal is! I guess we will figure it out!
The good news is that although DS still has some sores in his mouth, he was running around like his normal self today and had no fever! Getting better!
