could this be a bug?
my DS is 14 months old and has a runny nose and loose stool. Major diaper explosions past 2 days. well when I looked into his mouth he's getting his molars and canine teeth. He's also drooling a lot too. He doesn't have a fever. Do you think it could be a combo of teething and stomach bug or do you think the loose stool can be from teething?
I feel so bad for him.

It's very possible it's just from the teething. I remember reading somewhere that the theory is the extra saliva drains into the stomach and causes some loose stools. Especially since it's molars and canine teeth at the same time. Poor guy, hope he feels better!

thank you. I know I feel so bad for him.
I've been giving him Motrin to help with the pain but he will still wake up at least 2 times in the night looking to be comforted.

I'd assume teething. 2 of my kids had no symptoms, my third doesn't eat for 2 or 3 days when teething! Either way, lots of fluids & keep hydrated.

question: I have been giving him Motrin on and off for the past week because of this. Is it bad to constantly give him medications at night? I just feel he needs it to help with the pain and get some sleep.

As long as you're not giving too much over the course of a day, I think it's ok. The motrin may also be upsetting his tummy but hopefully you won't have to give it much longer. I hate giving meds but sometimes it's necessary and you want him to be more comfortable. And if I give motrin, I'm most likely to do it at bed time to make sure they get a good night sleep. Sleep is so important when they don't feel well.
