Coughing...
I am home from work today because of a really bad cough and head congestion/ear ache.
Now I'm noticing that throughout the day EMily is coughing more and more. I just took her temp and it was only 99.6 which for a rectal is normal, right?
Should I call the pediatrician or just see what happens? I know my throat feels bad and I don't want hers to also but I don't know what they could do anyway.

yes that's normal for rectal. You go one degree up for rectal, one degree down for under the arm.
I've heard that strep throat is going around the schools. I hope it's just allergies.

okay back from the dr's. she said emily sounded congested and seems to hvae some post-nasal drip as well but is otherwise okay. she said to give her 1/4 tsp of infant dimetapp 2X/day and she also said that I sound MUCH worse then Emily and that I need to get to the dr myself today.

aw! Glad she's okay! and hope you're feeling better soon.
Isn't it funny how fast we take them to the drs. but how long we ignore our own symptoms? I'd leave work for a second to take DD but wouldn't even think of it for myself.

I know exactly what you mean...I am sitting here at work with the stomach virus and want to DIE! But I wouldn't want to waste the day AND I don't want to get her sick if I wind up picking her up much earlier.

I went to the dr. today and it turns out that I have an Upper Respitory Infection and an ear infection --- and I wasn't even going to go and wouldn't have if the pediatrician didn't tell me that I should!!!
