couch

we are getting rid of our couch because we bought a new one. we made an appt with the Salvation Army for them to come pick it up today and they just cancelled on us - this appt was made 2 weeks ago. the next time they can come is next Sat which is no good for us cause we need it out of our house by Thanksgiving since we're hosting it.

who else should we call to donate/get rid of this couch?? my DH suggested calling the town and having them pick it up for disposal or just putting it out on our curb and hoping someone picks it up. i dont want to go through the hassle of cragistlist and try to sell it.

any other ideas??

I haven't donated furniture, but Brothers & Sisters has come to my mom's house to pick up leftover garage sale stuff before..

Also, I've seen people post "Curb Alert" on the craigslist free section. So you could put it on your curb, post your address and mention that you will take down the ad as soon as it's gone. That way you wouldn't have to deal with people.
