what city in costa rica would one go to? i really dont know...
has anybody been there and could give me advice? all inclusive vs a regular restaurant and what to do and see?

The Paradisus Playa Conchal in Guanacaste. It's all inclusive.
For a non all inclusive spa type resort I recommend Tabacon Grand Spa Thermal Resort in Arenal.
