Costa Rica
For those of you that have been to Costa Rica, where did you stay and did you like it, and approx. How far was the resort from the airport? I'm looking mostly for all inclusives. Thinking about planning a trip for this year.

would you consider not doing AI? You'll get a more authentic experience that way.

DH and I went a few years ago, but here is my review. We stayed at the Buena Vista Villas which was INCREDIBLE.

Your pics. and trip sounds amazing. It seems that everything is far though is that true? All the places I'm looking at are like 3 hours away from the airports.

Re: Costa Rica
DH and I spent our Honeymoon in Costa Rica in October 2010. The country is beautiful. For all inclusive, I would recommend the Paradisus Playa Conchal. It's about 30 min from the Liberia airport. We booked the Royal Service. The resort is amazing. The royal service area is perfect. There's a royal service pool and restaurant that only adults are able to use. The beach is an easy 5 minute walk from the room. Here are some pics.
Jerry from the Coati family living on the resort. They hang out by the pool. Soo cute. I fed him a banana.
I would also recommend the Tabacon Thermal Hot Spring Resort. It's not all inclusive but it's amazing. It's 2 and a half hours from the San Jose airport (closest to the resort). The springs are naturally heated by the Arenal volcano. The all you can eat buffet is reasonably priced but the restaurants on the resort can be expensive. The restaurants in the town are reasonable and the food is very good. The town is a 15 minute taxi ride away from the resort. Here are some pics.

Re: Costa Rica
How expensive was it to drive from the San Jose airport to the hot springs resort? Did you rent a car or hire a driver? Thanks

I don't know the price just for the transfer, I booked it along with the hotels at Liberty Travel and my papers don't list the actual price for the just the transfers. We had private/guided transfer from the airport to the hotels. I wouldn't recommend renting a car. Once you get out of San Jose the roads are no longer paved and they have HUGE pot holes everywhere.
