Cost to re-do bathrooms?

How cheaply can they be re-done?

We want to gut down to the walls, replace sink, shower, and toilet plus move electrical/plumbing

Can they be done for $8k or less?

Cost to re-do bathrooms?

Depends on the size of your bathroom. If you do the work yourself you can save a ton, just need to pay for supplies. Our bathroom is small and we expanded it into the closet next door. We paid about $12k for our bathroom.

for a standard sized bathroom (not tiny, not large) we paid 8.5k. 5k for demo and new install, 3k for materials, 500 for a dumpster. The tiles we picked were very economical. Tiles can get $$$$$$ and that will definitely effect the overall price. Same thing goes for other fixtures. We used standard Kohler.

Re: Cost to re-do bathrooms?

I think it's doable, but you will need to use inexpensive materials- tile, sink, vanity and toilet will all need to be done on a budget.
Just to give you an idea... We are in the process of prepping to redo our master bath. The labor and basic materials (sheet rock, grout, cement, etc..) is $5,000. The plumber is another $1,200. The electrician came today and I'm waiting on his cost, but I can't see it being much less then $1,500 or so. So basically, the labor costs alone are going to be almost $8,000. We have budgeted $1500 on tiles, we're hoping to come in under budget. We budgeted $2,000 for shower doors, just got the price back today at $1,900 installed and upgraded. The vanity, vanity top, mirror, faucets, shower head all came to about $2,200. And I spent $200 on lighting. We're looking at about $13,500 all said and done. Chat Icon

Re: Cost to re-do bathrooms?

We just got 3 quotes on a bathroom reno - it's a normal size bathroom, nothing big, and we don't want anything fancy

we were quoted.
$6500
$7500
$6800

all those quotes were without material (besides sheetrock), my dh and I were in shock, we were thinking/ hoping to do the bathroom for 5k total.

We are redoing ours. If you can do any of the work yourself that will save you $$$$. My dad and DH are doing all the work so far we've only spent money on a bathtub, tiles, and some plumbing supplies. If you are able to keep the plumbing and electric layout the same that will save you $$$ because to pay someone to move plumbing is more costly. The only thing we are doing there is we had to move the plumbing for the shower because we are changing to a tub, and we are adding an exhaust fan.

Re: Cost to re-do bathrooms?

Based on my experience I would say you'd run more like $10k and that is with very conservative, basic materials.

Cost to re-do bathrooms?

I just started mine today and we are doing the work so my cost does not include labor. We are spending $3K. That is all new...we are down to the studs.

This is what I'm hoping to do -- get DH and his brother/friends to do some of the labor then my stepdad can help with the tile. At this point, I'd settle for just changing out the vanity and I'll go to ReStore to find something affordable.
