Corporate Downsizing
I am doing an independent study this summer. I am hoping that I can get some input.
Downsizing is the topic, has anyone been layed off due to your company downsizing? Any info that can you share with me I would appreciate it. TIA

I was in December....NOT FUN!
However...I took that opportunity and started my own consulting firm. Been working at the same client on a long-term contract since January

I was laid off twice-- in 2002 and 2004 when the economy was in the literal $hitter. It BLEW! I was out of work for a very long time (10 months)-- and had to take the first job I was offered-- only to be laid off again a year later despite trying desparately to get a different job because I hated the job so much.
I am VERY happy to see the economy in a much better place!

I was in 2003...best thing ever!! 
What kind of info do you need?
The company went from a staff of 30+ to a staff of 5 because one of the partners (there were 3) wanted out and had to be bought out. He took his 1/3 of the co. and they couldn't afford to stay open at full speed.
Worst job ever!!
