I usually avoid bay beaches bc the bay skeeves me out sometimes. If you've been to Corey beach, do you recommend it? (We have a town parking sticker, so we wouldn't have to pay to park).

I don't love bay beaches either, but Corey is definitely great for LOs! The water is usually calm, there's a playground, a large covered area for shade, and you can grab lunch or ice cream at Flo's.

yes!! was just there last weekend and loved it! I loved that I wasn't having a panic attack every 5 seconds when they are by the water like I do at the regular beaches lol

I'm not that big of a beach person but we go just for the playground and Flo's shakes!

How's the parking there? I'm in Medford
and would you believe I've never been there?!? Is it easy to get around? A lot of walking from car to beach? Is Flo's a place right on beach that you can sit and have lunch at? Thanks, I'm eager to spend my summer with my 5 year old going there if it has all those things you ladies mentionedChat Icon

There's a parking lot right on Montauk and then the beach is a mediumish walk from there. I've never had an issue with parking on a weekday morning. Flo's is a lunch place right on Montauk across from the parking lot. Lots of delicious fried foods, shakes, and ice cream. They also have a traveling food truck and just opened a second place next to briarcliff college on main st.

And that's the closest lot? So it's hard to walk alone then with kids if you come with a decent amount of "stuff". Do you walk from the beach to Flo'a or you have to move your car? Thanks, newbie hereChat Icon

It's really a very short walk. To get your bearings, head down there in the evening when it's not crowded to hang out and grab dinner.

Thanks everyone!!

I don't think it's Montauk highway though. Flo's is on the corner of Middle Road and the street that leads down to the beach.

It's not bad of a walk. My 2 year old could do it so if you can handle the stuff and DC can walk, you'll be fine. It's mostly sidewalk which helps. You don't need to move your car for Flo's. And yes, the OP is right. It's Middle Rd. Sorry!

Not a fan of this beach at all simply because it's the bay. I find the water to be gross to be honest. I also heard something recently about how high the bacteria counts are? I would go just to play on the playground (well probably not personally), but would never swim in there.
