Cooking smells

My house stinks!! I'm cooking up a storm, I have the exhaust fan on and windows are open..

what else do you do to get the smells from overtaking us?

I mean they are good smells but to smell them for days is not very appetizing.

Re: Cooking smells

I have found a candle from Yankee Candle would help with the cooking smells.

2 good ones are: Lemon Zest or Cherry Lemonade. They are good at absorbing the odor.

It's hard in the winter, I find, because you can't just crack open a window, so I use a candle.

Re: Cooking smells

I burn candles all day as well when I am cooking.

Bath & Body Works tends to have them on the cheap.

Re: Cooking smells

Boil a water and lemon juice on stove... this will help.

Walmart has a great spray that was given to me in a gift basket over the summer. It instantly gets rid of all cooking smells. Fish, grease, etc. I will find the name of it tonight if you want.

Re: Cooking smells

Try an odor neutralizing candle. I don't like the smell of candles interfering w/yummy food smells, but if I am cooking something smelly, odor neutralizing candles really help.

What works for me is boiling in a pot of water, or just roasting on a pan alone is lemon or orange peel. It makes the house smell so nice.

Re: Cooking smells

I put half a cup of liquid fabric softener in a pot with a cup of water and just let that simmer on the stove.

A woman at DH's job recommended this to us when he got his deep fryer for Christmas. That thing can really stink up the house! We tried it the last time he used it and it worked!
