Cooking for company - timing?

Every time I have company I am nervous about the timing. I am afraid the main dish won't be done in time. Do you it's ok to cook my pork loin a few hrs ahead of time and put it in the crock pot on the "keep warm" setting so thats already ready when guests arrive?

It might dry it out... honestly though, if you are just roasting a pork loin, that is they easy part! Just put in the oven and let it go, you can estimate the cooking time and know when to put it in the oven. I would make the sides in advance and warm them up before you are ready to eat!

I find myself making easier dishes. In the beginning I'd go all out but I was spending all my time in the kitchen and not being a hostess. Now I make stuff that just needs to be served. Chat Icon Chat Icon
