Re: cookie press question....
Not sure about other cookie doughs, but I always use mine to make spritz cookies. It's a family tradition. Up until about 5 years ago my mother was still using my great grandmother's cookie press to make these!
Spritz Cookies 1 1/2 cups (3 sticks) butter, softened 4 cups flour 1 cup sugar 1 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract 1/2 tsp. pure almond extract 1 egg 2 tbsp. whole milk
-Pre-heat oven to 400. -Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. -Add vanilla, almond, egg, and milk, stir until well mixed. -Sift or whisk baking powder and flour together, add to dough in 2-3 parts. -Push dough into cookie press. -Bake 6 minutes and no longer-very slightly brown around the edges. Rest on cookie sheet for 2-3 minutes.
Happy baking!
Eta: I decorate them by sprinkling the sugar sprinkles (either red or green) on them.
