Convertible car seats?
So I think DD still has a few more months in the infant seat, but I was looking at convertibles today and know nothing. If you have multiple cars, you need multiple seats, right? You can't click the seat in the base like with an infant seat?
I liked the Britax Advocate- any feedback?

You need multiple seats for multiple cars. I like the britax marathon and the graco one we had, I think the contender. We have a Chicco NextFit that I don't like - of course that one is in my car.
Eta: you don't "need" multiple ones, but imo it's safer and easier. My brother just has one for his daughter. He is constantly moving it from his car to his wife's car to my dad's car. I just do not feel like it is 100% properly installed every time.
We have 2. One for my car and one for my DH's car. If we only had one, only one person could do drop off/pick up at daycare. Or I'd need to lug my convertible carseat into daycare and store it there all day - no thanks! I barely have enough time in the morning to drop him off as it is.

You don't have to have a seat for every car DD is in, but it will make your life infinitely easier. Convertible seats don't have a base that the seat clicks into like an infant seat -- its just the seat. If money was an issue, you could just uninstall and reinstall the seat in the different cars as need, but again it would be a PITA. I have the Graco 4Ever in my car and love it. Both my husband and mom have Graco Contenders in their cars. The Contender is more reasonably priced and simple -- doesn't have a lot of the bells and whistles of other seats but IMO is perfect for a secondary car.

We have two britax advocates. It's great. Dd1 has been in it for over two years and dd2 is about to get it and dd1 will go into the britax pinnacle.
It's big though. Something to keep in mind. Not sure what car you drive. We have them in an Acadia with captain seats and a Lexus RX.

We're definitely not switching a seat back and forth. DD would never make it to daycare if that were the case! Is somewhere to find what seats are best with which cars? We have an Escape and an Acura TL. We will definitely not be adding another car seat into the mix unless its a doggie one so space isn't an issue.

Re: Convertible car seats?
We have two Britax Pavilions and then a Safety 1st in MIL's car, which doesn't get used often. DD is 2 y/o and still rear facing and she seems to be comfortable in them. We've also flown with the Britax (it's FAA approved) twice which has been great.

If you like the britax advocate but are worried about space you can try the marathon and the boulevard. They are a bit smaller. The boulevard fits in my husbands super small backseat rear facing fine. I like the click tight installation it's super easy.

Highly recommend the Facebook page Car Seat for the Littles. The people who run the board are great and they helped me pick a car seat that matched my vehicle and my budget.

Yes, if you have multiple cars, you need multiple seats, otherwise you have to move them from car to car (which can be annoying).
I can't help with the Britax, we have the Graco My Ride but with #2 I'm looking at the extended rear facing seat. Britax is highly rated but I believe you have to buy a separate cup holder, which I wasn't a fan of. Look for ones that have the longest rear facing limits. My DS is 3+ yrs old and still rear facing.
