Convertible Car Seat
Its time for us to move our son to the Convertible Car Seat. We have the Britax Boulevard for our main car and we are looking to get a car seat for the car DS will hardly be in.
We have friends that love Graco myride 65 and safety 1st.
Importance Ranking 1) Safety 2) Depth of the Seat for the back seat. Some of these car seats are thicker than others making it harder to get child in and out 3) Cost
Thanks for any help!

Convertible Car Seat
Safety: They're all the same. Every seat that is sold on the US market passes the same testing as a pass/fail. The safest seat is the one that fits your vehicle, your child, your budget and will be used properly every time.
Depth of seat? I'm not so sure that this is an 'easy answer'. A lot will depend on the actual back seat you're putting the carseat in. I suggest you narrow down your search to a few and go to BRU with the vehicle in question and test a few seats out.
Graco MySize 70/Size4Me is a good option, as is the Britax Marathon, First years True Fit, Evenflo Triumph 65 or Symphony 65, Cosco Scenera or Apt, Safety 1st Guide 65, Diono Radian
Cost: I don't know your budget, but the seats above range from $39 to $250ish.

Re: Convertible Car Seat
I would look in to the Cosco Scenera if it is for a car that you are barely going to be using. I researched this one when looking for a carseat to bring with us for travel and this one was rated as lightweight, and got high safety ratings. The only thing that people complained about was the lack of cushy padding vs. other carseats. It is also very cheap, we got one for my FIL on walmart.com and it cost $40 with $1 shipping.

We have this as an extra as well and no big complaints. DS is still rear facing and I feel like it sits a tad too upright for rear facing and the lack of padding but its rarely used.
We have the Britax Blvd 70S in the family car.
