Re: Contractions??
Well since its painful, I would call the Dr. even if it isnt contractions.
Is there any consistency, are they coming back every few minutes, or just sporadic ?
It sounds like either braxton hicks or true contractions. but BH are just not consistent. I was told if I got more than 6 BH in an hour to call.
But if youre in pain, call !

Re: Contractions??
The pain has been intensifying every few minutes. Its crampy and then it gets really sharp for a few seconds? Then it goes back to being just crampy.
I would hate to call the Dr. because I know they are probably going to say to go to the hospital. But I'm very uncomfortable.

Re: Contractions??
I would definately call the dr if you are in pain - even if it turns out to not be contractions. Mine startyed out feeling very much like menstral cramps and prgressively got stronger and more uncomfortable. It took hours for them to change from crampy feeling to pain. call the dr!

Re: Contractions??
A key sign is the pain radiating from your back to your front.
If it's BH, drinking water, changing positions etc will stop them. If it's true contractions...well only birth will stop them or magnesium

Re: Contractions??
My contractions felt completely differnt from Braxtion Hicks. It felt like menstrual cramps and as the day progressed so did the intensity and how often I was receiving them. It sounds like it may be real contractions. Good Luck!

I agree with Barb, mine started in my back and come up to the front and they hurt, BH don't hurt. How many minutes apart are they?

Re: Contractions??
They were coming every few minutes. I already had my share of hospital visits, so I didn't call. I laid down and went to sleep lol. I know not good. But after my 3 day hospital stay I said I'm not going back until this baby comes out!!!
I have a Drs Appt this morning for my 36 week sonogram. I will be asking them about the pain.
