Contraction Question (don't get excited folks!)
Everyone always tells me contractions are super low like cramps. But the TOP of my stomach gets SO SO SO HARD it almost takes my breath away. Is this just Braxton Hicks but in a different spot?

Contractions will be your whole belly, top to bottom. Maybe something is starting!

I get really bad BH contractions like that too. My whole belly, top to bottom gets hard as a rock and I can barely breathe sometimes.
I think it's normal.
Does it pass for you after a while?
Also, mine don't hurt like cramps though, just a super tightening feeling, uncormfortable more than painful.

I get the same. It is BH. I have been getting them since about 20 weeks. Sometimes they really scare me

I just called the doc yesterday because I had the same thing and they were very uncomfortable! It felt like I had just done 100 sit-ups in 2 minutes! My stomach was hard and tight! He said it was BH...but the real thing could be right around the corner! YEY!!! Good luck Tilde...feel good!

I get BH contractions all the time in my upper belly. I don't think I've ever gotten one down lower, actually!

Try drinking some water.... if they're BH, then the water should help.... if the water doesn't help, well.... hehe!!!

I'm gonna say they *could* be the start of something. Or they could just be BH.
I've been getting strong BH contractions for about 2 weeks now. The top of my belly gets really hard, and just like you described, I almost can't catch my breath. It doesn't hurt at all- just very tight.

When I had contractions, my entire belly got hard. When they were very strong, I felt it in my back as well.

I had that high pain weeks before I went in to labor. It felt like BH- but PAINFUL. Really bad.
My real contractions were much lower.
I am thinking those high ones were just late BH - I hear that BH later on can be more painful.

that sounds like a BH contraction. i've been having them so often that i feel like i've been doing crunches by the thousands for the last few weeks. my abs are soo sore because these. its a very good sign that ur uterus is practicing for the real thing!!!
