Contract is Signed!!! With Drama of course....

Dh and I left work early to go to our lawyer and sign the contract. Before I left I found out the seller's attorney was being a real a$$ and not agreeing with most of my lawyers changes...most of them had to do with IF she stays in the house for 5 days after closing. It was basically changes to protect us. The seller's attorney was very rude and hung up on my lawyer. We decided this was not going to be the day the contract is signed and went home.

The seller's broker called me asking me to explain our side. She kept saying the seller won't even use the 5 days, so I said then just approve our changes if it's a moot point already. things got heated. so finally she said, just add what you want in the rider and i will make sure the attorney approves them. apparently she uses him for all her contracts so he owes her.

So now we're on our way to the lawyer when we're on the Belt near the Van Wyke and get into a 4 car accident. LOVELY!!! someone cut the car in front of us off and then it was a chain event of brake lights. we were the 2nd car. we got banged from the front and back. everyone was ok, but our bumper needs to be replaced now. not the greatest time for this to happen.

So we finally get to the lawyer 2 hours late (7pm) in whitestone. We spent 4 hours reviewing the whole contract and both riders and finally signed!!! we ended up crashing at my MIL's cause she lives around the corner from the attorney and we just got home now.

im dropping the contracts with the big fat check over to my broker today and she's hand delivering it to the sellers attorney on monday. now we wait for her to sign.

i am so glad this part is over...but once the sellers sign i know this is just the beginning of more headaches.

sorry so long! i just couldnt believe that all this actually happened yesterday!!!!!!!!!
