Contacts
When I was younger I always wanted to wear glasses. I thought they were a cool, fun accessory and people always look smart wearing them. Lucky me, I got my wish granted in my old age (25 ) and I needed to wear glasses all the time. After 7 years, ugh I just hate it. I hate wearing them. I hate not being able to lay down and watch a movie (easily), I hate not being able to see when I first wake up, I hate having to spend a fortune on prescription sunglasses. Ugh, I'm just done.
BUT, I'm such a baby and I don't like the idea of putting something in my eye. It freaks me out! Was anyone this way before getting contacts? Were you able to get over it? How do you like them?

Contacts
It gets easier. I remember when I first got them the eye dr made me put them in and take them out several times to make sure I could do it.
When you get them, ask your dr. to give you different brands. I was using one brand that constantly ripped or would always slip behind my eye... I have air optix which I love. they are super comfortable and they rarely rip and never slip behind my eye.

Re: Contacts
I first got contacts at 13 and was SUPER squeemish. The woman at the eye place sat with me for over an hour trying to show me how to put them in. I finally got it but still was freaked out by it,.
Now, a million years later, I can do it with no mirror. I can pop a lens out at a red light and put a fresh one in. I don't even think twice about touching my eyeball.
You will get SOOOO used to it

Re: Contacts
I got contacts when I was 15 and I remember the first few days it would take me like an hour to get them in. Once you are used to them, it's the easiest thing in the world. Now I can pop them in and out without a mirror.

Re: Contacts
Thanks- I'm just such a big baby. I hate the idea of doing it. Then again, I was like this about needles and getting blood drawn... then I got pregnant and got stuck with dozens of needles and while I still don't LIKE it, I'm just like ugh, whatever get it done. If I can get past that, I feel like I can get past this. I am SO tired of my glasses!

Re: Contacts
Another question? Can I just go to any old eye doctor? Or is there someone specific to go to? I'm dumb!

Yes any eye doctor should be able to fit you for contacts. I get mine at Davis Vision/Visionworks

Contacts
Any eye doctor can do the prescription and show you how to use them. I used to wear them for years but eventually my eyes just hurt so bad from them. They say it shouldn’t happen but for me after about 10 years of contacts I couldn’t do it anymore

Exactly this except I was 11 when I first got the. Woman at Sterling sat wit me over an hour for me to get it in...probably another hour getting it out. You get used to it in a day or two, now I don't even think about it!

Re: Contacts
I always had glasses, but I rarely wore them bc I was able to get by without them, and realized this last time I need to wear them more. So I went to contacts and it was easy to get used to! I’m sure you’ll get the hang of it quickly! I do feel that it’s easier to put them in, then to take them out. I’m definitely not good like the OPs, I need to be directly in front of a mirror and with good light
