Consultation tomorrow...Update
with Dr. Hershlag of NSUH...I have been waiting weeks for this appt...I am in between cycles so its basically a get to know you appt...I want to know if this facility will be what I am looking for...right now I go to RSNY...I was wondering what questions I should ask??? This is the list I came up with:
1. Monitoring hours 2. Treatment Protocol 3. How they perform IUI's 4. Any additional testing
Wish me luck!!!
Update:
So I met with Dr. Hershlag...he must be super busy cause it took like 20 min to actual meet him but a side note...DH and I gave our histories and he looked at all my bloodwork...he wants DH to get another SA and I need to have a glucose tolerance test again...I had a sonogram and the cyst is gone, woohoo!!! He wants to see me in 2 weeks for another consult and see where to go from there now... and I dont know...he was knowledgeable and seemed nice...the facility is nice...the monitoring hours are pretty much anytime during the day so I dont have to go in the mornings for monitoring which I like...he also suggested femara since clomid gave me cysts and thinned my lining..he also suggested metformin but he wanted to see what the diabetes test showed...I am still going to question the need for me to take metformin ...the only part I didnt like was he almost jumped to IVF...he basically said that if/when IUI's dont work then IVF will be the next step...but since I am young we could go 4-6 more rounds but he would do b2b's and monitor to see if maybe the follies were still there...I did like that I would have all my procedures done by an MD...so I would alsmost have a mini consult each time...I think I am going to go with them and see how it works out...

Re: Consultation tomorrow...
i would think about all the things you like about RSofNY and ask if they can provide those things. All the things you dont like, make sure they don't have those practices.
Good luck at you appointment!

Re: Consultation tomorrow...Update
So glad that you found it comfortable for yoU! I go there, and I can't get enough of the nurses and the nice lady Patty who is usually in the lab. We're like BFF now
Anyway, i think you will find the nurses and Doctors very sweet. It doesn't feel like a factory, and you see a DR every time. I have no idea if they even have PA's.... I've had interns just standing there, but no assistantsa.

yes met is very standard for PCOS. it helps regardless of your fasting insulin. i had no issue on my fasting insulin either and i wasnt on met at first but eventually was put on it. im off now since im still nursing but i want to go back on ASAP since it helps with weight loss and cravings for me. there's really no reason to contest metformin, if you have PCOS it is known to help. good luck!!

I am not going to refuse taking it but I have the question as to why if my insulin levels are normal...I have read it can help regulate other hormones but since my last RE did not prescribe it and this RE would I would like to know why.
