Confused at 1st appt....
Saw my Dr. today after getting my bfp on Sunday. When I called the office yesterday the nurse said to come in to confirm with a blood test and that would be all. I got there today and had an exam, which I wasn't expecting and bloodwork. The dr. didn't really tell me anything but to call tomorrow for the results and make an appt. for the sono in 2 weeks. She said congratulations and sent me on my way. At what point does the Dr. talk to you and tell you what's going on like what's ok to eat, do, etc.....

Wow- I'm surprised they didn't go over more with you today!!
An internal and pap is pretty standard at your 1st appt. (I wish i would've known that too)
For my 1st appt they:
Confirmed PG by having me POAS
Did an internal
Gave me a script to get blood taken- maternity panel
Set up the appt for 8 week sono
Gave me a list of do's & don'ts, and asnwered all my questions
My doc was with me at least an hour!
Your doc might go everything more in detail at your next appt in 2 weeks!

I guess I'll get more info the next time around. She did mention that I'm very early, based on LMP I'm only 4 weeks and 1 day.
