Honestly, your best bet it to go to the NYS school report card for each individual school and check out the statistics. Do a search on here about that, there was one a few weeks ago that guides you what to look for...
ETA:Which districts are you looking at, you will be able to get a lot of insight from LIF!

Thanks so much! Between DH and I we like Wantagh, Babylon, Commack and West Babylon...Random I know.
We llive in West babylon and like it...but not sure about the school district. We have to either move or add onto our home.

I don't know much about Babylon or W. Babylon but I've heard very good things about Commack and Wantagh.

West Babylon has some large classes at the elementary level - I understand that the average is about 25. Not the end of the world but not great.

I live in Wantagh now but moving to Ronkonkoma sometime in the next month. If I could, I would have stayed in Wantagh or somewhere in Nassau. We just can't afford the taxes and home prices.
