Coming Home Outfit
My il's are wanting her to come home in something my mil bought but I decided she will be coming home in something I bought. My question is did any of you pick a non set outfit. The first outfit I ever bought her (see pic) is so cute and would love her to come home in it. Granted I will have a hat on her, socks(or can I get away with booties) and a receiving blanket. Or should I get something long sleeved?
Oh I'm due in 4weeks.

Re: Coming Home Outfit
I'm due in 3 weeks & my 1st DC was born in late June - so 2 summer babies. I brought home DD & this baby too will come home in long sleeve, feeties...the a/c in both my car & house will be cranking. Then they don't need a blanket at all...& don't have to worry about socks that don't stay on a newborns feet. I will have a hat too but that's it.

Re: Coming Home Outfit
DD was born in June when it was really hot and I brought her home in long sleeves and pants with feet and a hat. I personally wouldn't use a sleeveless outfit.

Re: Coming Home Outfit
DD is a May baby and she came home in a tank top dress with a little jacket over it, socks and a blanket.

Coming Home Outfit
I would probably opt for something that covers more even for the sake of the carseat straps. The first time putting her in, it would bug me to have the straps rubbing on her shoulders and thighs.

I felt the same way - I spent soooo much time picking out a beautiful outfit for DD (and so much money!) and then DD was so tiny that the outfit was way too big and my mom had to go run out and buy something else!
The things that are important now won't be once she is here - you will want her to be comfortable more than anything.

i think its presumptuous for your mil to insist that your dd come home in something she bought- i mean, its your child!
with that said, on that day, you will be so tired, and so new at the mom thing, that you will want something that is EASY to dress LO in.
I remember trying to dress my preemie twins in this silly outfit i picked...i was scared to hold them, let alone pull their head through an uncomfortable silly outfit. go with something comfortable and easy to put on (nothing that goes over the head, something with snaps up the front, etc) and you can get an adorable hat which can be your statment piece. oh- also bring 2 outfits, as they tend to spit up and you may have to change her again

Re: Coming Home Outfit
i'm very pro comfy and simple oh and im not looking for a outfit.
i just want to be able to look back at pics one day and say " I did good" kwim
as for my mil she does mean well. i guess shes excited since this is her first grandchild from her first born. we just need to make it clear that when it comes to FIRST mommy and daddy might want to be in control of that
