Comey's opening statement
So, all of this seems totally normal. Not at all concerning. Isn't this always how a President acts? I'm sure Pres A$$hat will say Comey's the liar here. Comey's Opening Statement for hearing tomorrow.

Re: Comey's opening statement
That was a smart move on Comey's part, to get his story out the day before in case Trump tried to pull executive privilege before tomorrow. Trump is out of his league.

That's whay I was thinking. Also, the committee members can prep their questions more thoroughly.

Is anyone watching the live testimony?
I can't watch the live broadcast, but I'm trying to get some posted highlights every once in a while...

Re: Comey's opening statement
I am, and I have to wonder if people watching really understand what is happening here, and what many suspect has already happened.
This is terrifying.
And everyone sits and watches like the Emperor's New Clothes.

Comey's opening statement
You know Spicer is hiding Trump's phone in the bushes to get him not to tweet throughout this.

Uggh, I didn't see much beyond the first hour but I was hoping McCain would be one of the more helpful republicans. This is disappointing to hear.

Comey's opening statement
Boy, I was wondering the same thing when McCain fumphered through that "questioning" But here's something I gathered from today's testimony and commentary from both sides of the aisle: Nothing new and shocking was said today, except we got an eye-opening glimpse into Comey's emotions while going through the ordeal. Here's what I think: there's no super glaring concrete evidence, YET. With the "evidence" and "innuendo", so far, not enough to fry #45 if you play by-the-book. Now, IMO, cheeto Benito obviously thinks that being the leader of the free world, he can do whatever the F he wants without consequences. I think this also speaks to his lack of Washington experience, and you can't just wink and smile to make things go away. Comey truly just followed his normal protocol when it came to the "way things work" in DC

Re: Comey's opening statement
McCains statement:
"What I was trying to get at was whether Mr. Comey believes that any of his interactions with the President rise to the level of obstruction of justice. In the case of Secretary Clinton’s emails, Mr. Comey was willing to step beyond his role as an investigator and state his belief about what ‘no reasonable prosecutor’ would conclude about the evidence. I wanted Mr. Comey to apply the same approach to the key question surrounding his interactions with President Trump — whether or not the President’s conduct constitutes obstruction of justice. While I missed an opportunity in today’s hearing, I still believe this question is important, and I intend to submit it in writing to Mr. Comey for the record."

Still doesn't take into account Comey's answer that the HRC investigation was over and the Russia investigation is (presumably), ongoing. And also pretty sad that he had to come out with a statement to clarify what he was "trying" to ask in a Congressional hearing and couldn't/wouldn't ask coherently during the hearing

Supposedly his wife is being considered for a job at the state department and some are guessing that's why he found his way out of asking tough questions. No one will know wtf was in his head but that's one theory.

I didnt learn anything new per say. I didn't see any evidence. Not sure where this will go. Comet screwed himself and his career is tarnished and over. The fact that a former FBI director would leak info is scary. McCain is a perfect example of why we need term limits. The HRC questions were irrelevant and a waste of time.

Comey's opening statement
I don't think Comey leaked anything, he shared information anonymously but it was lawful. The information he shared wasn't classified, the president himself talked about it, so I am not sure what the drama is about there.

Exactly. They keep calling it a leak - he even said leak - and I don't get it. It was his personal recollections of a meeting he had - not classified - and as a regular citizen, why shouldn't he have shared it with whomever he wanted? I think the thing that kind of made it worth it was the fact that Comey called out the con artist for being a liar! Good for him. It's about time someone just straight up said it! I'd really love to hear those "tapes" (that obviously don't exist) though!

I think Comey made a great career move. For the next 4 years, there's no way he would ever get a job in politics. However, by standing up to the president and outright calling him a liar on several occasions, he's going to get plenty of private sector job offers, making a lot more money, and probably having more influence in the government, since Corporations are People.
Nothing was leaked by Comey, so that's a non-issue. The fact that the president leaks classified info to Russia is VERY SCARY! (Sorry, it's no longer classified once the president leaks it...)
