colic & finding time to pump

I thought of this today because I've only managed to pump twice so far the whole day (once was before DH left for work) & probably won't get to again until DH gets home.

I'm trying to keep my supply up. How do you have time to pump frequently throughout the day (every 2 or 3 or even 4 hours) if you have a baby who screams all the time & you're home by yourself? I'm constantly getting interrupted & if I put it off, I never get to do it & my supply goes down.

I guess there's no real solution to this, just something annoying. Anybody ever have that problem??

I did. It was honestly stressing me out so much I was getting depressed. I just had to stop all together, it was too much. Within days I felt like myself again.

This was always a constant problem for me because my LO always needed to be held in the beginning. I would stress every day about this--especially because I was exclusively pumping. I would try and pump as much as possible when my DH was home. And then I would try and pump whenever my son was sleeping or was content in his swing. Even if it was only 15 minutes.
I wound up pumping for 7-8 months (it was actually easier once I went back to work b/c I could pump while I was working, lol).
Just take it one day (or 1 pumping session!) at a time. Good luck!

Re: colic & finding time to pump

it's super hard!!! i remember those days (and my LOs didnt have colic)
Does your LO sleep in a swing or swaddled at all? As soon as they go down I would pump. I had everything all set up (before DH left for work) so all i had to do was hook myself up.
Id also let the babies sleep in the boppy next to me on the bed while i pumped. they loved being snuggled in there and i was right next to them in case they needed me.
if you have a pump bra, you can become an expert at holding the baby while pumping, it just takes some practice.
