cold sore

i have a cold sore on my upper lip is zovirax ok to use? i hope it will not hurt the baby, will it? i am 19 weeks. TY!

I can't answer your question but I have to comment here......... I can't believe you are 19wks already!!!!!!!!!!! damnnnnn its like everyone's pregnancies just FLY!

Category B. I would use it if I needed. If you want, why don't you call your OB and get their opinion?

My OB didn't let me use anything but Carmex.. it stinks.. in my 1st tri I got 7 cold sores!!!

i took valtrex for 2 cold sores i had within the beginning of my pregnancy. my OB prescribed them for me, so you should be fine too!

I have one now too!

My OB said I can use Zovirax and Valtrex, but I am 31 weeks. I would call and ask first, but I am pretty sure the cream is OK.

Feel better...cold sores are terrible!!
