cold/flu like symptoms

i was reading about early preg symptoms and noticed alot of women seem to get cold/flu like symptoms and was wondering if anyone knows why? thanks

I have read about this. Some women's immune system goes to investigate the new cells growing. For most women this does not cause a problem because her body has antibodies to protect the baby. For a few women this indicates that your immune system is "sticking its nose in where it doesn't belong" and attacks the fetus. I believe I may have this problem. I believe i have an overly aggressive immune system. I NEVER get sick and one of the few times I did I was pregnant and had a miscarriage. Many women have this symptom and this does not happen (most as a matter of fact) But I think that is the reasoning.

wow interesting..I am never sick, but instantly had flu like symptoms a week before BFP.

thank you. that explanation makes sense. (but maybe its just wishful thinking on my part) - - had a cold since yesterday, 3 or 4 dpo - although DH had a cold last week... to us

IT happened like that for me. I was sure I had the flu because I was stuffy/congested, had some minor dizzy spells, and I could smell things like never before and it was making me gag. This was all within 12 dpo !

trying not to get my hopes up - we only got to BD once & i think it was too early. Also like i said DH had a cold last week so i think i just caught his...
