Cold Cuts Question

How much meat and cheese would I need to get to make two heroes? The size of the heroes would be a normal long loaf of Italian bread. I never buy cold cuts, so I have no clue how much I'll need to make two nice heroes. 1/4 lb? 1/2 lb? 1 lb? more than 1lb? Please help!

Re: Cold Cuts Question

I guess it depends how much meat you want on each sandwhich. My husband and I don't pile it on deli style. We use like 1/4 what a deli would use on a sandwhich. So if we bought 1/2 a pound, we would probably get like 4 or 5 sandwhiches out of that. I get my meat sliced as thin as possible and use like 2-3 slices per sandwhich.

Re: Cold Cuts Question

I would use at least 1/2 lb on each loaf, meat wise. Then I would use 1/4 lb cheese on each. Especially with Italian bread, I want to take what's on it, not just bread.
