Cold Cuts
5 days for cold cuts but they never last that long. Cheese can last a very long time.

5-7 days. Cheese I'll keep longer. Like others have said, roast beef grosses me out after 2 days.

Re: Cold Cuts
I have this debate with DH all the time. I asked the lady at the deli counter and she told me 2-3 days
I tend to keep them for about 4 days. DH would keep them until he actually saw mold growing.

I have a 4 day rule. After that, they are garbage and I will NOT eat them. I only buy boars head also. Cheese is a different story.
This is me exactly. Thats why we only buy enough for 4 days.

www.stilltasty.com says 5 days max for cold cuts, so that is what I go by.
Yeah, we looked into it also. 5 days on cold cuts 3-4 days on left over meat. My Dh once ate a chicken cutlet that was in the fridge leftover. It was 6 days old ( he didn't realize) and was sick as a dog that night. I felt so bad that I forgot to throw it out. Ever since then, we are pretty cautious when it comes to anything with meat.

Re: Cold Cuts
For ham and turkey:about 3-4 days, roast beef: 2 days, and cheese: over a week as long as it's sealed.

Re: Cold Cuts
5 days. Shorter if it starts to get slimy or that weird tinged glaze over the ham UGHH
Cheese, salami or Pepperoni I will let it get to 7-8 days. They last longer

Re: Cold Cuts
I asked the deli guy when buying and he said after 3 days you should question it especially turkey. 5 days + is way too long IMO.

Re: Cold Cuts
3 day maximum! That's why I NEVER buy more than I know will be eaten during that time. I would rather go to the store 5 times a week.

Re: Cold Cuts
Now does it matter when the cold cuts were opened at the deli? If they opened the ham on Monday, but you bought it on Thursday, does that play into the equation? Do you just assume that it was opened the day you bought it? I ate ham today that was bought on 3/4 so I guess I am willing to go 8 days. BTW...it was delicious!

Re: Cold Cuts
After 5 days, the meat is tossed. Usually it's slimy by then (in my experience).

Re: Cold Cuts
4-5 days unless it gets that slimy look earlier then it is tossed. We only get roast beef and turkey if that makes a difference.

i generally keep them for about 5 days. You can tell when you open the package up if they start to get a little slimy or smell different, then they should be tossed. For me, i notice that around 5+days

I find they typically last about 4-6 days. I smell them after day 3 because Ive had them go bad by day 4.

Re: Cold Cuts
It depends! I stopped buying oven gold turkey and now opt for the honey maple turkey because it doesn't get slimy and lasts way longer than just a regular cut of cold cut turkey. I also buy the honey maple ham too. With the honey maple cuts, we've lasted as long as 5-7 days. No more than 3 days with other cuts.
