Coconut Milk

Has anyone ever given their LO coconut milk instead of cow's milk? My 14 month old son has a cough and sounds very congested. I know when I'm sick the dr.'s tell me to stay away from dairy, so figured the same rule would apply to him. I limited his dairy intake all day and instead of giving him cow's milk in his sippy cup with dinner I tried the coconut milk. He absolutely LOVED it and from what I could tell on the container it looked to be equally as healthy as the cow's milk. Just curious if anyone else has had any experience with this or have used this to replace cow's milk.

I do. My DD hates regular milk, so I gave up forcing her. You have to read labels b/c different brands have different amounts of calcium, but other than that we haven't had a problem. My ped is fine with it b/c she gets calcium from other sources.

DS is finicky and will take cow's milk fine one day and then refuse it the next. We give him coconut milk on the days he doesn't want cow's milk. We buy it from Trader Joe's.
