Co-sleeper or bassinet?

I'm due one week from today. We had plans for baby to sleep in the pack and play but it's to big for our room. So now I'm looking at a traditional
Bassinet or the arms reach co sleeper clear vue.
I would like something with mesh on the sides as I'm slightly obsessed with her bedding and non mess Greeks me out.
Which would you recommend? Or any know of a different one?

Co-sleeper or bassinet?

I used the clearvue cosleeper and it was perfect. I ordered it from walmart and it was only $99 which was great. I loved the breathable sides since DD would roll and scooch around way more than I ever thought a newborn would. She was ebf so it was so nice not having to get out of bed to feed her or to lay her back down. It's also a great model because the height adjusts without the separate risers that a lot of them require. I definitely recommend it!

I used the clearvue but left all the sides up so it was like a traditional bassinet. I loved the mesh siding on it because as a new mom i was paranoid lol and not only for breathing reasons but i could see her as wellthrough the mesh. I highly recommend it.

I personally didnt like co slepeing because of the suffocation paranoiai i had. And to be honest i need my sleep and being so sleep deprived to begin with i wanted to sleep comfortably when i did finally get some lol

I also used the clearvue, a brown and green one I got at Walmart for $99. I kept the side up and used it as a bassinet. I got a nice mattress for it from ecobaby. With the thicker mattress, it left about an inch , maybe more, of mesh above the mattress on the fold down side. I wish there was even more mesh : ) But I think DD was still safe and comfy and it worked well for us.

Ordered the clear vue yesterday. How go I go about a better mattress? Or did you find the one it came with ok?

The one that came with it was fine. It's thicker than a pnp mattress! I just topped it with a multipurpose pad so that I didn't have to change the sheet if DD had a leak or a major spit up.

I personally wouldn't go nuts buying things until the baby is here. We planned on putting DS in a bassinet but he never took to it. After many sleepless nights holding DS I finally put him in the swing and it worked like a charm. By a month old her preferred sleeping in his crib most of the night and then would move into the swing after his 2nd bottle. The bassinet never got used.

We used the Rock n play in our room until she was lifting her upper body up! Didn't sleep well in the bassinet even after elevating the pad. But loved the RNP.

I have the cosleeper mini and love it. My dd has been in it for 3 months and she seems comfortable. I like that it doesn't take up a ton of room and it makes breastfeeding easy.
