Re: co-ops in Bayside?
Where in Bayside are you going to be? You can take the LIRR - I believe its the Pt. Wasington line to the Bayside stop. He can pick you up over there...and depending where you are going to look there are a few Express Buses that run into Bayside from the city...where in the city are you coming from??
ETS: Oops...thought you needed info on how to meet up with your DH tonight...but it is a great area...we we looked at a few co-ops in Bayside as well...but ended up buying in Beechhurst...good luck

Re: co-ops in Bayside?
I live in Bayside - I can't say enough good things about the area.
The area is very accessable to all parts of NY and even CT. There are some cute gift shops and tons of restaurants on Bell.
Right now I am close to Bell just north of Northern Blvd which puts me at a 7 minute walk to the LIRR station. There are also several express bus options depending on where you end up. I used to live in Bay Terrace and took a city bus to the LIRR.
If you need more specific info, please feel free to ask.
Good luck with your search!

Re: co-ops in Bayside?
thanks so much for the info!!!
we spoke to a broker and there aren't too many co-ops that are walking distance to the LIRR... whats the deal with the bus to the LIRR? that could work out! It seems like the LIRR is about 25-30 minutes but the express bus to the city is about an hour....

The Q31 runs on Bell Blvd, - again depending where in Bayside you live you could take that ...but you could also take the Q13,Q12 or the N20 OR N21 (they all run on Northern Blvd from LI to Main Street - Queens) to the corner of Bell & Northern and walk four blocks to the LIRR...or take them to Main St and jump onto the 7 Train into Manhattan

Re: co-ops in Bayside?
The express bus runs in front of my house to the city...there is also a bus to the train (subway and LIRR)...I think its convenient to everything.

I took whatever bus that runs on Bell -- it's actually timed well to coincide with the LIRR schedule (well years ago, anyway). I picked it up near the Bay Terrace Shopping Plaza.
I am not too sure what runs south of Northern, but there has to be something.

I think it is the q13. That takes you to the 7 train in Flushing.
