co-ed shower

if you ladies got an invited to a co-ed baby shower, would you expect DH to be invited too? (or if you are planning one, would you invite your friends with their spouses?)

I received a shower invite addressed only to me, and thought nothing of it - i assumed it was a ladies only baby shower. the next day a male friend tells me he got his invite to the shower too.
I have never been invited to a co-ed shower before so I wasnt sure what would be considered "normal" but i thought it was odd for DH to not be included. just wondering what you ladies have experienced in this situation

co-ed shower

If it's a co-ed shower, I'd think (and expect that) couples are invited. I'd ask the host when you call the RSVP if you're both invited or not. Could just be a misprint on the envelope.

That is weird but as a pp mentioned, is this male a close friend of the mother to be? Maybe space is limited so they're only inviting people who directly know or are good friends of the guest of honor? Maybe there are only a handful of male guests and they are all good friends of the new mom's?

I would question if DH is invited when you rsvp or next time to talk to your friend if the shower is not a surprise.

thanks ladies - that is what i thought too!

The male that was invited is not close to the mother at all, in fact he was surprised to get invited as they have not seen each other in over a year and only text message maybe once every other month about sports.

i double, and triple checked my invite and also asked 3 other ladies that got invited - and none of our invites had our spouses names on them

co-ed shower

Since it was only addressed to you I think that you were the only one invited.

even if it is a co-ed shower maybe they dont have the space to invite spouses? i would assume it was only you invited since the invitation was addressed to only you.

I would too, regardless of whether it's coed or not.

thanks ladies! i know this one was only for me and i dont plan on crashing by bringing DH! I was more wondering what the "norm" would be (even though i know there really is no norm when it comes to these things)
